Of Late.

Last night, Olivia Woollam's wonderful dress made from thousands of pins was shown at the Art ND exhibition and I was lucky enough to model it for her. This entailed parading around being very careful not to stab anybody whilst random strangers came up to me and touched and prodded me. We then proceeded to get really quite drunk and the rest is history. Anyway, this is one of many pictures that were taken of me and the fabulous Olivia, I will post more when I get my hands on them.

Balenciaga

"I was working on something domestic. Casual things mixed with classic. And a kind of rigidity," is what Nicolas Ghesquière said of Balenciaga's A/W 2010 collection which showed in Paris earlier this month. It is a collection which is almost impossible to describe, the garments speak for themselves. There was so many clever elements and inspirations, so many details you don't see at a first glance, a multifaceted collection which is definitely one of my favorites from Paris this season.

Comfort Music

So, I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself after last nights shenanigans and as I made my way home this morning in last nights clothes this song just made life a little more bearable. Enjoy.

Alexander McQueen F/W 2010

Truly spectacular. Regal, legendary and unfortunately the last collection Lee McQueen will ever design.

This collection seems to incorporate all the themes of his past collections, it screams Alexander McQueen to me. It is the perfect embodiment of his work, it is Lee McQueen's genius defined in one collection, it is the perfect full stop to this man's wonderful creation.

round up

So, Paris Fashion Week has had so many amazing shows so far and there is only 2 days left. There have been so many shows I completely love and I would be here for years if I was to write about them all, so, I have chosen my favourite looks from my favourite collections and compiled a little round-up of my favourite shows. Enjoy.

DRIES VAN NOTEN:

I loved the diversity throughout this collection.

GARETH PUGH:

Though he has toned it down in his past 2 collections, Gareth Pugh continues to create innovative, intriguing and beautiful designs.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD:

Colourful, creative and like nothing else in Paris this fashion week. Another spectacular collection from Vivienne Westwood.

(definitely one of my favourite looks this fashion week - just love everything about it)

minimalistic androgyny teamed with good old fashioned glamorous gowns. Nothing crazy enough for Gaga this season I wouldn't have thought.

VIKTOR & ROLF:

I was in love with their Spring/Summer collection, it was deconstruction at its finest, this season is another beautiful collection, but, I am only really interested in the final piece which was transformed from the dress into the spectacular jacket, it was a stunning new take on the theme of their last collection.

Tim Blanks described Viktor & Rolf as "fashion's finest performance artists" which is true. Each of their shows is so much more than a catwalk show. This season they based the show on the idea of a "glamour factory" where one model - Kirsten McMenamy - stood in the middle on a rotating disc where Viktor & Rolf altered her outfit, adding and taking away as they dressed the passing models. Such an interesting and beautiful concept.
