Kate Sylvester

When I'm in Australia, I spend most of my money on the magazines. Russh, Oyster, Frankie, Yen. They are all fantastic and I wish they were easy to find over here. In the pages of these magazines, I discovered Kate Sylvester. She is a New Zealand born designer who's recent collection, "This Charming Man", I am absolutely in love with. I'm think she is Australasia's answer to Margaret Howell. The ad campaign caught my eye initially, it is classic, simple and really gives you a feel for her designs.

As we fall into sequence
And we're eating our young
Remain silent and still for modesty

When the splints have been broken
And they can't help you now
Do you pray with your eyes closed naturally

Follow me to nowhere
Woven with the utmost care

If I'm lost please don't find me
If I drown let me sink
We descended from no one
With a wink

When it's cold outside hold me
Don't hold me
When I choose to rest my eyes coax me
Don't coax me
When it's cold outside hold me
Don't hold me
When I choose to rest my eyes coax me
Don't coax me

Have they cleansed you with chloride
And scrubbed behind the knees
Has your body been hollowed by the breeze

Eclipse

I went to see the Eclipse and have to admit I really loved it. Especially the music. Here was my favourite tracks on the soundtrack. Some I had heard, some I had not...

LOVE sia.

Lemonade

Shot a rabbit from the back seat window
Sat and watched in the summer corn grow
Ate ice cream in a desert dream
And got lost in father's singing.

Too hot inside, too hot outside
Lazy days when you said just go for a ride
We'd sail on Spirit Lake,
Me, my pappy, and his lemonade.
